Marketing Manager - 4 days - 12 month FTC

Due to an upcoming maternity leave, our client is looking to recruit a Marketing Manager to work 4 days per week for a fixed term contract of 12 months. 

Duties and Key Responsibilities


  1. To produce the annual marketing plan as part of the business plan. This will include devising a suitable comprehensive fully costed promotional campaign. Securing agreement for ideas from Managers, Board Members and Welsh Government.


  1. To manage the agreed annual marketing budget. This includes scheduling campaigns to ensure that activity is sustained throughout the year. Monitoring marketing expenditure on a regular basis, ensuring best value for money. Evaluation of spend effectiveness.


  1. To liaise with all relevant agencies to develop / deliver campaigns and materials.


  1. Primary management responsibility for, the design, layout, content and quality of the website and associated websites.
  2. To manage the delivery of a yearly events calendar. This includes occasionally attending relevant events in Wales. Organising relevant launch events and workshops to promote services to all relevant stakeholders.


  1. To oversee management of all promotional stock.


  1. To oversee the the delivery of all digital communications.


  1. Manage PR activity to ensure the correct messages are being communicated to the media, utilising all relevant opportunities and using agencies where appropriate. This includes monitoring local, national and trade press, producing regular and adhoc press releases and articles, responding positively to relevant articles and letters in the media. Gaining as much free promotion as possible through PR on stakeholder websites and promotional material. Maintaining communication with the media, offering quotes and advice where necessary. 


  1. Implement customer research / satisfaction campaigns to include awareness, Customer Satisfaction and Product research. Collate and report results.



  1. Support to the Contact Centre to help ensure they are delivering against expectations.


  1. Managing a Mystery Shopping programme, share the reports, make recommendations and feedback to management and Board.


  1. Managing a complaints process (for internal and external customers).


  1. Managing an ‘adverse weather/disruption’ state of readiness.



  1. To manage team members to deliver specified objectives.


  1. Appraise staff informally on a regular basis and formally at least once per year.


  1. Organise departmental meetings to review progress and communicate business objectives etc.


  1. Maintain and develop constructive employee relations aimed at meeting the objectives of the Company.


  1. Own and promote company values and quality standards.


  1. Ensure the Health & Safety and Welfare of staff within department, ensuring responsibilities are clearly understood, legislative requirements are adhered to and that a proactive and professional approach is adopted to Health and Safety issues at all times.


Skills, knowledge and experience

  • CIM / equivalent qualification or working towards. ‘A’ level education minimum, Graduate preferred.
  •  Minimum 3 years experience of working in a marketing role – evidence of campaign/objective delivery.
  •  Some people management / supervisory / team leadership experience.
  •  Experience of and ability to create a brief and select suitable delivery partners.
  •  Account management skills – 2 year’s experience in a customer / supplier facing role.
  •  High level of written and oral communication skills.
  •  Above competent pc user incl latest Windows software.
  •  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  •  Ability to represent the company to suppliers, Welsh Govt, Local Authorities, other external stakeholders and potential customers.
  •  Ability to meet tight deadlines with an attention to detail.
  •  High level of personal motivation and the ability to motivate others.
  •  Ability to travel within Wales and occasional overnight stay
