Our client is recruiting for a Collections Team Manager..

 

They are looking for a motivated team leader to manage their Retail Collections Team and provide effective guidance. Reporting to the Retail Finance Manager you will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members on a daily basis.

 

You will have previous management or team leader experience ideally within collections. You will also have proven ability in improving team performance through coaching and development including morale and strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

 

You will have excellent knowledge of debt collection rules and regulations and collections experience in target driven environments. As a strong self-motivated team player you will be able to work to deadlines and manage expectations accordingly demonstrating a high level of attention to detail throughout all aspects of the role with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and oversee the achievement of individual team members and team targets
  • Ensure internal collections processes are adhered to
  • Ensure excellent customer service is consistently achieved utilising quality checking and coaching with a view to continuously improve the output of the team
  • Hold regular team meetings, one to ones, coaching and other performance and development activities as required
  • Monitor and manage the teams’ levels of annual leave, absence, lateness and breaks/lunches throughout each shift to ensure maximisation of productivity and performance
  • Produce weekly and monthly performance reports to assess, track and manage the productivity and performance of the team
  • Support senior management activities including recommendations for process improvements, provision of information, performance reviews and audits as required
  • Provide input into system development, prioritisation and testing
  • Undertake other tasks and ad-hoc project work as required by the business

 

 

Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent knowledge of debt management rules and regulations
  • Proven experience as a team leader or supervisor
  • Understanding of the utilities sector is desirable but not essential
  • Customer service orientated
  • Friendly, professional telephone manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience liaising at all levels
  • Highly organised and motivated
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience of producing reports for management
