Billings & Collections Administrator

Based in Cardiff Central, our national client are looking for a Billings & Collections Administrator to join its team


Job Purpose

This role requires the co-ordination of a variety of clerical and administrative functions by the post holder, which will allow others to make informed decisions and ensure company billing and collection processes can be completed on time. Work will have routine elements and there will be an established workload with responsibility for ensuring tasks are carried out in a timely and accurate manner. 

Additional Objectives:

  • Update customer records with correct details
  • Maintain the direct debit status of various customers within the billing system
  • Downloading bank transactions and allocating payments to customer accounts
  • To respond to email enquiries
  • To assist with administration activities 
  • Assist with the pre and post-billing account checks
  • Assist with the production of customer bills and reminder letters 
  • Provide contract management support (account closers and queries)
  • Provide test support for system development
  • Facilitate new customer accounts to be created within the billing system
  • Sorting and distributing post, sending customer post including welcome packs
  • To make outbound telephone calls to customers where required
  • Assist with reviewing fixed direct debit collections; adjusting amounts either up or down and communicating with customers
  • Raising refund requests where required

To provide assistance to other members of the team in respect of:

  • Rectifying crossed water meters and associated billing
  • Calculating and applying leakage allowances and credits
  • Undertaking the advanced bill checks
  • Assist with estimating water and energy bills
  • Other ad-hoc tasks
